GAIA staat voor Gemeenschappelijke Accreditatie Internet Applicatie.
GAIA is een gezamenlijk systeem voor accreditatie van nascholing en herregistratie van de wetenschappelijke en beroepsverenigingen van huisartsen, medisch specialisten, verpleeghuisartsen, artsen voor verstandelijk gehandicapten en sociaal geneeskundigen.
Voor nascholing die via GAIA verloopt, is het accrediteren van bij- en nascholing en het vastleggen van de behaalde accreditatiepunten per persoon volledig geautomatiseerd.
